Sedona Arizona

When you hear Yavapai County, think creeks, views, and wide open spaces from the Red rocks of Sedona to the pine forests of Prescott and Crown King and the vast high desert plains of Dewey Humboldt with views of surrounding mountains. Yavapai county covers 8081 square miles. It has variety. If you have a home or property you would like to sell on the MLS for top dollar or you need to sell it fast for a cash offer, reach out to me.

You might like picturesque and peaceful Peeple's Valley where you can watch wildlife and enjoy mild summers and mild winters and even have affordable acreage or off-grid properties. You might prefer Prescott Valley or Dewey Humboldt with similar weather where you can see for miles and trailride from your property while being close to Prescott for shopping and restaurants. Prescott Valley has a #8 top school district in the state.

Prescott is famous for it's rodeos and offers plenty of golf course communities to choose from. It is also home to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Weather averages in the 80's in the summer and 50's in the winter and there's plenty to do and you are only 2 hours from the Phoenix valley for large venues like concerts and sporting events.

Just down the mountain in Cottonwood, Yavapai Community College offers viticulture and wine-making classes.  Sedona gets about 3 million visitors per year, so the tourism industry offers employment here. Cottonwood and the Verde Valley have hotter summers that can get up to 100 with evenings that cool down.

Prescott and Cottonwood both have hospitals that offer employment as well as the Ruger manufacturing plant in Prescott and there is employment at a mine in Bagdad. The Verde river runs through Yavapai County providing vital irrigation along with kayaking, fishing and boundless other recreational opportunities. Yavapai county also extends south and borders Maricopa county. Elevation ranges from 1900 ft to just under 8000 ft. So whether you want warmth and year-round golfing or 4 seasons and living on a creek or close to a lake, you can find it here.

If you want to farm, some areas in the Verde Valley have irrigation rights.  If you want to prospect for gold, we have properties you can live on with mineral rights. You will never be bored here. There is a scenic train ride through the Verde Canyon departing from Clarkdale, and another train near the Grand Canyon. Sedona offers helicopter and hot air balloon rides.

Sedona gets about 10 inches of snowfall per year and Prescott

gets about 12 inches. Usually only a few inches falls at a time. There are exceptions. About every 10 years,

there is a bigger snowstorm. You just take a snowday and enjoy the beauty of red rocks layered with snow. Sedona has a dark sky designation that makes for great star-gazing. You can stay at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park in their cabins for $60 per night and explore Arizona from there. It's 15 minutes to famous Sedona. You can detour by going through Cornville and drive Page Springs Road to see vineyards and stop at multiple wine-tasting rooms. And don't forget historic Jerome and Camp Verde. This county is full of Native American ruins and petroglyphs. In fact, this background picture was taken in West Sedona, home to lots of them. Good restaurants in the area are the Rock Springs Cafe in Black Canyon City, the Butterfly Burger in Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona, the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome, and Farm Provisions in Prescott.
