Skiing anyone? Mt. Humphreys is the highest mountain in Arizona and part of the San Francisco Peak mountain range and home to Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort. But Coconino county has variety! It is home to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon visitors center, the Kiabab National Forest, and the beautiful Vermilion cliffs as well as amazing Antelope Canyon (see the below picture). It is also home to famous Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon as well as the Mogollon Rim and it has SO many lakes to choose from. The elevation of this county ranges from around 4000 ft to over 12,000 ft. Sedona gets approximately 12 inches of snow per year and the red rocks look amazing with a white dusting. Flagstaff gets a lot of snow but only about 6 days per month does it actually snow December through February on average. You will see about a foot of snow falling in a snowstorm though. Page averages a high of 97 and a low of 72 in the summer and only gets a light dusting of snow occasionally. Look at the jobs available in this area. You might be pleasantly surprised - this might be the area for you! Raft the Colorado river, fish Lake Powell, and hike and explore all this part of the state has to offer. Flagstaff is home to Northern Arizona University and there are Coconino Community College campuses in Flagstaff and Page. the Trapper's Rendezvous in Williams on the way to the Grand Canyon. Check out Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and northeastern Arizona with the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. If you like wildlife, you will love this county! Visit Bearizona or the Grand Canyon Deer Farm or just watch the deer and elk wander across your field! Ride the railroad to the Grand Canyon and sample some locally made brew at the Grand Canyon Brewery and Restaurant in Williams, Flagstaff, and Page. Page has over 3 million visitors per year. The Grand Canyon has almost 6 million per year. And Sedona gets about 3 million per year. There are ample opportunities in tourism.
