Saguaro National Monument Tucson Arizona

Golfing anyone? Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties offer wonderful retirement areas with low cost of living, temperate climate, and golf courses. But there are tons of outdoor adventures waiting for everyone of any age. You can have so much fun exploring southern Arizona any time of the year because you can always find someplace with nice  weather. Most of southern and southeastern Arizona averages in the 80's during the summer, some places in the 90's but the Tucson area can get up to a little over 100. But evenings and mornings are nice. And mountains offer cooler temperatures. Sierra Vista and Bisbee offer nice temperatures year round.

Tucson offers the most employment and has 3 school districts in the top 20 in the state, including the #1. Plus it offers a children's museum, Transportation Museum, Wildlife Museum, Saguaro Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park, a National Observatory, and an Airplane boneyard and golf courses and skiing on the top of Mt. Lemmon and Canyon Ranch Spa! It is home to University of Arizona and Pima Medical Institute. Just north are suburbs with properties with land that sit at the base of the Catalina Mountains. My youtube channel has a couple of videos of this area. East is Saguara National Park and visit Gates Pass in the evening for amazing sunset photos. South of Tucson is lovely family-friendly Sahuarita which boasts the #5 top school district in the state and mountain views. South of that is Green Valley and Tubac and Ria Rico with golfing, a missile museum, and beautiful Madera Canyon in the Santa Rita Mountains and fishing at Patagonia Lake and scenic Parker Canyon Lake. You might like Tucson Estates, a very active retirement community with pickleball, pools, tennis, library, gym, shuffleboard, golf.

Then head east and stop and visit the Patagonia Museum then over to Sierra Vista which means Mountain View in Spanish. It is a valley surrounded by mountain ranges that are almost 10,000 feet in elevation. Sierra Vista is at 4600 elevation and the hottest it gets is about 90, winters are in the 60’s. It has the #3 top school district in the state. This is the nicest weather in southern Arizona year-round if you are looking for 1 place to live year-round. It has a hospital, airport, Cochise College, and affordable active retirement communities.  Further east is Bisbee also with a hospital and airport which are the main employers of the areas. (Pick up some orange honey butter or honey mustard from the Killer Bee Guy.)Between the 2 towns is the Ramsey Canyon Preserve, a birder's paraside on the 150 mile long San Pedro River that runs from Mexico north to the Gila River. This river waters lots of farms and ranches.  Decorate your new home with all kinds of unique pieces from local artists showcased at the Patagonia Trading Post. If you have a home or property you would liike to list on the MLS for top dollar or you need a cash offer and fast close, reach out to me.

Further east is Slaughter Ranch at Douglas. Cross the border into Agua Prieta for a cultural experience. Nearby is historic Tombstone (try some of Johnny One Dog's sasparilla), ancient ruins, Kartchner Caverns, Benson.

Drive to Gates Pass for camping and amazing sunsets, you can join the Southeastern Birder's Observatory for hikes and events.

Perhaps you could be a photographer in southern Arizona? Further east are the Chiracahua mountains with the Southwest Research Station-another birder’s paradise where you can camp.

Cochise college has several locations and offers research programs in archaeology, weather, botany, riparian, and wildlife as well as employment opportunities. Take their courses and go to work at one of the museums or preserves I just mentioned. Live the life you’ve always wanted.

If you want an off-grid homestead, go solar or wind turbine and design and build your own alternative-style home, you can do that here. Land is affordable. Cost of a well varies depending upon the location, so it will have to be researched. Some properties have shared wells or you can go in with neighbors for a shared well. Call me or complete the contact form at the bottom of this page and let me know what your dream is, what you like to do, and what your price range is and what kind of climate you prefer, whether you want to be away from it all or near it all or in-between. I will be happy to send you listings of properties for sale and if you are looking for something specific that is not for sale, I can check expired listings and even reach out to property owners.
